We’ve been impressed by Irish alt-pop artist April for a long time now here at TMR. We’re excited to share her latest single, ‘Hotel’, a self-described reflection on love, possession, and escapism. She draws the listener in quickly with her groovy pop prowess and keeps them on board with her lyrics. “I’ve always been a very obsessive person and want things all to myself, so the whole idea of booking a hotel and being alone with someone and having them all to yourself is a play on that feeling,” she explains. “I wrote the second verse as a poem when I was on a flight to London - the sun was rising and it was so pretty, I actually did cry.” Check her out on tour with Matilda Mann this Spring. -Dan Peeke
